trying new things

In my freshmen year, my dad signed me up for Lacrosse. I cried for hours, begging him to not sign me up. I had no friends playing, and I never touched a stick in my life. I ended up getting an experience of a lifetime.

Trying new things is hard, but the outcome is worth it. A new hobby can lead to a new form of happiness or talent you never knew you had. It’s okay to like routine, but it’s also okay to get out of your comfort zone once in a while.

Getting out of your comfort zone and picking up an activity you never touched before is like magic. There are a million outcomes, and each of them is special. Soon you’ll have new friends or see people you have never met before. You will gain skills in a hobby you couldn’t do a month ago. Trying new things isn’t just something you do, It’s an act of love for yourself, and an act of self-care.

I never thought I would be writing to hundreds of girls when I picked up journaling. I thought journaling my thoughts would be a fresh way to get my feelings out and relax. After I started, I started to appreciate some of my writings and looked at them from a new perspective. Then I took on blogging.

I want every girl to experience their own moment like this, whether it be a new painting piece, a sewed clothing item, or a new club or sport. If this is your sign to break the cycle, then let it be. You can do anything you put your mind to.
