What is Girlhood?

Girlhood is a blog encouraging girls to share their stories, ask other girls for advice, and promote a message that is all-too-necessary in a world plagued by insecurity and disconnection. Girls can upload blogs with stories that are funny, scary, relatable, or entertaining! We have a highly-selective team of over 100 volunteers that make it their mission to respond to girls inquiries through the “talk to us form”, or write blogs of their own. Girlhood also hosts a live chat, in which girls can communicate with one another in a monitered and positive setting. We want every girl to know that they belong and that there are individuals all over the world willing to help — as well as give them an opportunity to help others in the process.

Every girl has a story, and Girlhood gives them a chance to share it.

How Can I Share My Story?

To share your story, click on the "Write to us" tab above. Then, find the “write a blog” button and click it. Specify whether your story is one you want shared on our blog for entertainment purposes, or whether you are specifically asking for one of our girls' advice. Both will be posted on our blog (anonymously) in order to reach a larger audience of girls struggling with similar issues. If you would prefer your question or inquiry not to be posted on the blog, you can specify that within your submission as well.

How Can I Ask for Advice?

To ask for advice, click the “write to us” tab, then locate the “ask for advice here” button. This will lead you directly to our google form where you’ll input your email address so we’re able to get back to you :) We also have our Girl Chat, which is a monitored chat room for girls to ask and give advice! You can access both down below.

How Can I Get Involved?

In order to be a part of the Girlhood team and answer the various questions and inquiries we receive, click on the “volunteer” tab above, then locate “join the Girlhood team.” There, you will find an application form with a few quick questions that allow us to gauge your character and the type of advice you’d give to those seeking it. This is a great way to gain volunteer hours for high school students, and since our application process is so selective, being admitted as one of the girls means you exemplify characteristics of leadership, responsibility, and kindness. Becoming part of the Girlhood team is rewarding: you are able to help girls all over the world and meet people struggling with relatable experiences.
